Engineering drawings, shop drawings and fabrication drawings can all form part of the same construction project, but they do different jobs. Engineering drawings communicate structural requirements developed or verified by a qualified structural engineer. Shop drawings take the approved project information further by showing how specific components or assemblies are to be made or installed. Fabrication drawings provide the detailed information needed to manufacture individual
